Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 28, 2026
Your family's privacy is at the heart of the Service. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect, why, who sees it and when it is deleted. It is written in accordance with the Israeli Privacy Protection Law, 5741-1981, and Amendment 13 to that law.
Service owner and database controller: Ariel Sharaby, exempt dealer no. [to be added: exempt dealer number], 31 Tzurit St., Even Yehuda, Israel, hello@filmforlife.com.
1. What information we collect
You are not required by law to give us information. Without an email address and photos, a film cannot be made. You can start from an ad without giving an email address: we then open a temporary account with no email address, and ask for one at checkout. A temporary account that is not completed is deleted with its photos after 14 days.
- Email address: to sign in to your account, to send the film and the receipt, and for updates about your order.
- The photos you upload, the order you chose, the person's name and date of birth if you entered them for the opener, and the song if you uploaded one.
- The film, the individual transitions and the intermediate images that were created.
- Order details: the plan, the price, the payment date, and the last four digits of the credit card as returned by the payment provider. The full card number never reaches us and is not stored by us.
- Technical information: network address, browser and device type, and actions on the site (for example clicking a button), through an analytics tool described in section 6.
- A record of the consents you gave, including the time, the place (which screen), the language and the exact wording.
2. Why we use the information
We do not use your photos or your film to train models, we do not display them publicly, and we do not sell information to anyone.
- To make your film, check its quality and deliver it.
- To manage the account, the payment, the receipt and refunds.
- To answer inquiries and provide support.
- To improve the Service based on aggregate usage data (not based on your photos).
- To send marketing email only if you explicitly ticked the consent box, and until you ask to be removed.
3. Photos of children
Anyone who uploads photos of children declares that they are the children's parent or guardian or that they have the parents' consent. Photos of children are handled exactly like any other photo: used only to make the film, with limited access and automatic deletion. In the quality check a language model compares the faces in the photos of the same order, to make sure the person stays the same person in the film. We do not build profiles, we do not store face templates, and we do not use the comparison for any other purpose. We do not publish photos or films of children without the parent's separate consent.
4. Who else processes the information
To make and deliver the film we use service providers who process information on our behalf, under agreements and their terms:
- Storage of information, accounts and sign-in: Supabase (a cloud database and storage service).
- Video production and photo extension: fal.ai (United States), which receives the photos needed for each transition and may not use them for other purposes.
- Processing and assembling the film: Fly.io (servers in Frankfurt, Germany).
- The automatic quality check: Anthropic (the Claude model), which receives intermediate images from the transition for the check only.
- Email delivery: Resend.
- Receiving support email: ForwardEmail forwards messages sent to our support address to our own mailbox. It handles the message only in transit and does not store it.
- Payment processing: Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record, receives the payment details directly and sends the receipt.
- Site hosting: Vercel.
- Usage measurement, only with your permission: PostHog (EU cloud) receives usage events and screen recordings in which every input field is masked and every photo and video is blocked, so photos are not captured.
- Marketing measurement, only with your permission: Meta (the pixel and the Conversions API) and Google Ads (the Google tag) receive page, upload and purchase events; Meta also receives an email address in one-way hashed form for matching.
Some providers operate outside Israel (the United States and Europe), and some use public cloud data centres in several regions. We send them only the information needed for the specific operation, and rely on their contractual terms to protect the information. If you would like to know what information went to a particular provider, contact us.
Beyond that, we will disclose information only if required by law or a court order.
5. How long we keep it
- Photos, transitions and films: deleted automatically 90 days after the film is delivered. You can delete them sooner with one click in your account, and they are then deleted immediately from the active servers and within 30 days from backups.
- Photos uploaded for a free transition without a purchase: deleted 14 days after upload.
- Uploads that were not completed are deleted after 48 hours.
- A testimonial or clip you submit will be published only with your explicit approval and after we have reviewed it. You can ask to have it removed at any time. A clip that is rejected is deleted immediately, and an approved clip stays on the site until you ask to remove it. We keep the wording of the approval, its time and the IP address as proof.
- The network address and browser details of anyone who visits the checkout page, the account or the film are kept in one-way encrypted form (not readable) for 30 days only, for checks to prevent abuse of the "Refer a friend" program (self-referral), and are then deleted.
- A record of a free transition that was used (email address and network address only) is kept for 12 months, even after the account is deleted, to prevent abuse of the benefit.
- Order details and receipts: 7 years, as required by tax law.
- Email address and account: until you ask to delete the account.
- Technical usage data: up to 12 months.
6. Cookies and usage analytics
The site uses cookies that are necessary for signing in and paying. Measurement tools (PostHog) and marketing and remarketing tools (the Meta pixel and Conversions API, and the Google Ads tag) load only after you allow each of them, separately, in the cookie notice. The boxes in the notice are not ticked in advance, and "Essential only" is as easy to press as "Accept all". You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the page. We keep a record of the choice: a random identifier of your browser (no network address), what you chose, when, in which language and in what wording. If you choose "Essential only", no event is loaded or sent to these tools, including no purchase event from the server. Screen recordings mask every field that is typed into and do not capture photos or videos. You can also block cookies in your browser settings; signing in may not work without them.
7. Information security
Photos and films are stored in private storage that is not reachable from the web without authorization, access to them is limited to your account and the Service administrator, and communication is encrypted. In the event of a security incident that may harm you, we will notify you and the Database Registrar as the law requires.
8. Your rights
Under the Privacy Protection Law you are entitled to review the information held about you, to ask to correct or delete it, and to withdraw consent to marketing email at any time. A request to hello@filmforlife.com will be handled within 30 days. Residents of the European Union and other regions are entitled to additional rights under local law, and we will honor them.
9. Email
We send service messages (sign-in link, order confirmation, film ready, refund) without separate consent, and they contain no offers. Marketing messages (advertising) are sent only to those who ticked the mailing consent box, which is not ticked in advance and is separate from the order. Every such message starts with the word "Advertisement", includes our details and an unsubscribe link that works immediately. We keep a record of the consent: time, place (which screen), exact wording, email address and network address. We do not buy lists and we do not send messages to anyone who did not ask for them.
10. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as needed and show the update date at the top of the page. A material change will also be sent by email.
